You know
in the Bible it says to “be Instant in and out of season”. That means be ready for the calling of God
whenever it comes, whether or not it’s convienient to you. This may be how it is with Syria. It may be morally necessary for the United
States to go to war there no matter how “tired of war” we already are. We’ve fought two unnecessary wars. Perhaps we can get it right once and fight a
war that’s actually imperitive.
President Obama is still sitting his ass and not making any decisions
about the gassing of Assad by his own citizens.
He’s used Seran Gas on his own people.
The United State apparently hasn’t even given any help to the
rebels. But to my way of thinking- - if
he wants to show people like John Mc Cain and Newt Gingrich that he’s really a
true blue American- - this is the President’s time to redeem himself and to
step up to the plate. And I don’t see
why he doesn’t. I know that Larry Elder
is against fighting any war on grounds of spreading democracy or freedom or
eliminating human rights violations. The
only reason why a Larry Elder would go to war is if our Oil Interests were at
stake, like we thought it was in Iraq. I
don’t think the President would have any problem with getting a war resolution
against Syria. We’d be making a
statement to the world just as Winston Churchill made a statement against
Hitler in 1940 saying that England was going to stand firm. England could well have used that same “we’re
so tired of war’ argument. But sometimes
life just doesn’t work that way. Like
Hitler, Assad will be a lot easier to defeat now rather than later
If this
whole “economic miscalculation” event in the past few days and heralded on the
Mike Papentonio show- - is indeed a valid complaint- - that right wing
economists deliberately “cooked the figures” of their 2010 prognosticative
report- - then why haven’t we heard about it on the Network Evening News
shows? And I think I’ve answered my own
question. Because these networks are
owned by the corporations. Now the Koch
Brothers want to buy out - - the Chicago Tribune newspaper. Anyhow the main thrust of this economic news the past few days is that the vaunted Dept Crisis we have been in is not nearly as bad as the media has been saying all these years due to a major Excel code error. Now you see why it's big news. Because it means we don't have to even worry nearly as much about the Debt as everybody has been saying. The economic growth rate was 2.5% for the
first three months of this year, which is about par for the course for
recently. Newt Gingrich once said that
on the evening he was elected President- - the US Economy would be so filled
with confidence that the Big Banks would all instantly start lending to get
this economy going. Bill Clinton said
eight months ago “This economy has improved- - but you just don’t Feel the
effects yet. But soon everybody will feel
the effects”. This has not happened
yet. It was just about a year ago when I
did a blog posting heading “Touted economic rise looking more Bogus Every Day”
or something like that. Hopefully we’ve
come at least a respectable distance in the past year, but who knows? Five years ago unemployment stood at four
& a half percent. That’s a long
distance to go. Then I
began looking at all the George Washington’s blogs on the economy. I saw the mocking comedian video, and read a
whole lot of the links. They 2010 report
screwed up on their Excel coding. And
the other great truth is that they left off economic statistics from Canada,
Austrailia, and New Zealand. But also
the Federal Reserve still thinks it’s the 1930’s and what the banks have is a
liquidity crisis. But rather they have
all the money they want from the Fed.
The problem is that they don’t trust anybody else. It’s a clear case of thinking like Judy. But another revelation is that the Obama
administration chose NOT to help people out burdened by private debt, and
instead focused all of their care and attention in making sure the Big Banks
liked this President. The distinction
between Barock Obama and George W grow fainter every day.
Lest there
be any doubt over how completely the right wing has taken over, just recently the Republican House voted down putting
taggers in gun powder to trace it’s source.
After all those munitions manufacturer’s rights must be protected. And also President Obama gave thumbs UP on a
bill passed by the Republicans to make it a whole lot harder to investigate
inside traders on Wall Street. Why would
President Obama sign a bill like that?
It seems that the US Senate passed a very narrowly written bill to get
the air traffic controllers back to work so that THEY won’t be inconvienienced
when THEY take yet another week off. So
what is the holliday this time? I have
an idea. Why don’t they take a break in
their vacation routine and do something different - - like get down to
work. But of course - - none of the
many, many others impacted by the Sequester will be helped out- - because these
budget cuts wont personally inconvience these Senators. Of course all five ex presidents were at the
Bush Presidential library dedication today in Dallas, and apparently all five
Presidents address the gathering. And
they are bringing back the book “Secrets of the Bush Crime Family” that
originally came out in 2010. Apparently
President Bush when asked what his goals for his Presidency should he run the
next year said “Oh? - - Ask Carl Rove”. Of course two people they wouldn’t dare talk
about with any prominence are Karl Rove and Dick Chaney, even though these are
President Bush’s two top “Handlers”.
Of course the tea party lives on propaganda and lies. Just today a caller to a show said “Oh, I
have absolutely no problem with a background check. But it’s the fact that this bill they voted
down would have created a National Registry – is what I was against” along with
his other NRA friends. Of course the
bill specifically ruled out any “national gun registry” so this is just another
express lie put out by the right wing.
People like Judy eat them up.
Nicole Sandler was in for Randy Rhodes today. Randy seems to take a lot of individual days off. This paragraph was posted the next day and I had bad diaria last night myself, and I'm wondering what's causing it. Personally I tend to resist when someone says to me "You know Marcus, you're really smart". I tend to regard these remarks from certain people as highly disingenuous. It's almost as if they are issuing the praise for their own Selves so others will look at them and say "Oh, that guy is gracious. He complements others. In terms of the soap opera once again Nick Fallon is surrounded by his adversaries. And the net is tightening in all around him more with each passing days. I would count the number of weeks remaining in that il-fated marriage in single digits. I said weeks and weeks ago that “It’s time for Nick Fallon to just give it all up”. He’s in an untenable position. I said the same thing of the President in mis 2011 saying he should announce that he’s “Not running”. I said he would remove himself as a convienient lightning rod for the tea party. The thing is that everybody says Nick Fallon is really smart. And people say that President Obama is really smart, too. But all of that accademic excellence or whatever has gotten nowhere, with either of these two gentlemen. I'm thinking "If the President is really that smart why can't he think his way out of this political "paper bag" that he is in? And even when the polls favor him on issues- - and he wins two elections - - basically he’s a loser, and the Republicans are basically the ones who are running this government. Brady Black is about to have the floor fall in from under him, too. Clearly Christine is not averse to feeding his fears about her feelings for John Black. Brady has been living in a fool’s paradise ever since this relationship began. I went out for coffee and a dinner roll at snack time at two.

I’m more
inclined now to think in more compassionate terms for my fellow man. Not that I didn't have an awareness of the needs of others before, because I did. But when you're in an economic stranglehold yourself - - your first instinct is tword self preservation. I feel bad for Jay that his conservator has
ripped him off this whole month and that he has so few cigarettes. I’m thinking there are times when I could
have been more generous. But I wouldn’t
say this in Dr. Levy’s class because he might respond “you see, you didn’t like
all my lines about being content and thinking of your fellow man and not for
yourself, so maybe you’re learning something”.
Not so fast. I have the Luxury of
thinking in rosier terms now because I’m not being continuously pummeled this
year with Judy’s negativity about everything- - not to mention her numerous
personal attacks. I have often mused “I
thank God for all of the conversations I have NOT had with Judy this year”. You know in that Jesus Show letter I saw
posted- - I pretty much cover all of the basic “problems’ I have with Neil’s
philosophy of life. It struck me how
there’s that song about “Love and Marriage –go Together”. But I wonder about Love and
Christianity. I might get an argument
from many about whether one could have Love without having Christianity. But these evangelists of today would have no
problem in maintaining there is no problem at all with having Christianity
without Love. Apparently President
Obama’s more than “conciliatory” attitude tword the Robber Barons – is spawned
by his education in Hawaiiai and a Lilo and Stitch cartoon or something about “How
we are all just one big family and we should all view each other that way”. But generosity and compassion - - like those
other traits such as love and forgiveness- - are Valuable for the very Reason
that they are Rare- - and one might argue - - precious. I know an individual in Christ (and thank God
you don’t) who as you know one of his chief traits is that he’s a total flake
with people. And I think he looks on
people like me as - - Insecure, or something.
He’s been cashing in on God’s charisma credit card for so long- - I don’t
think he realizes what he routinely squanders- - is really God’s grace.
Well, it can be said that we are one quarter of the way to the "2016" movie. What I'd like to know is what ever happened to the 2012 movie. Perhaps they should show it on TV. The way I recall it was already considered an old movie by the time 2012 came around. Not that anybody wants to live in some continued state of crisis. Indeed it would be "only fair' in my oppinion if God gave us maybe fifteen years of peace and tranquility and prosperity and a low violence rate- - along about now. But God does whatever he does and it's pointless to question it. I'm just saying that much as we may not "be in the mood' for another war in the Mideast now, it might be Necessary. And "doing what is necessary" is a comodity that politicians have been short on for a long time.
