It's A Question Of Power

"Uh let me guess- this is not one of the people with the power"

Moe Kelly's point is well taken that Blacks, and particularly Black youths already have about two & three quarters strikes against them going out the gate as far as law enforcement is concerned.  The Sanford Florida people have done an amazing job of putting Trayvon Martin on trial and making HIM prove that he isn't a thug or a peeping Tom or whatever else he is accused of.  But I think something Moe and I both have to keep in mind is that - - most likely in the south this is just "business as usual".  In other words we are just seeing what has always gone on under the radar screen as a matter of course.  The other day, David Cruise was discussing the Trayvon Martin case because that trial has taken on such surreal qualities to it.  The racism is like a bad period novel.  People keep saying it won’t be like the Rodney King acquittal and people won’t riot.  This case is WORSE than Rodney King on so many levels.  With that case the trial itself was fair and objections and the way the parties conducted themselves in court were reasonable.  And you’ll remember Rodney King WAS on something - - and also had taunted the cops.  But in that case also we didn’t have the personalized hatred for each of the individual police officers, which were Stacy Koons, Theadore Brasenio, Timothy Wind, and Laurence Powell, who did the most whacking.  You didn’t have some asshole attorney going on TV shows and almost primping for the cameras bragging how his client is going to get off.  And by the way Rodney King didn’t forfeit his life.  There are worlds of differences.  It's primarily a question of Power, who has it and who doesn't.   Women have learned that the way to overcome a wife beater is NOT to just ignore it and "hope it goes away" or that the man will "see your submissive spirit" and be awed by that, and stop his ways.  The same goes for Black people.  Black people have been conditioned through the centuries to be submissive and not look Whitey in the eye while he's addressing him.  Moe Kelly's point is well taken that OF COURSE the prosecution isn't giving it their all in terms of the prosecution of the case.  OF COURSE the prosecution won't ask the right questions on cross examination that will nail down certain facts.  That's not their aim.   How about this theory advanced that Zimmerman got his cut on the nose and abbrasions on the back of his head- - because the gun he shot Trayvon with has a really strong recoil, and he was in a confined space.   But I'm not even convinced it's been established in this case that Trayvon was on top and Zimmerman was on the ground.  I'd like that testimony read back which states that when Trayvon was shot, he was on the top and the blood defied gravity and none of it fell on Zimmerman.  "There are certain things that are - - Readily Evident" just as in that San Francisco crash- - you don't need a degree to figure out pretty soon that major mistakes are being made here.   Keep in mind in the police's mind this investigation was "hijacked" by outsiders.  The Establishment did not even want to HAVE this trial at all.  It's a case of "OK we'll give the Nigger a trial before we kill him", or at least after they kill him.   The thing is that any "response" to this case that does not Take Back That Power- - - is a fruitless one.  In the South they even have a name for it.  It's called an "Attitude Adjustment".

Last night I checked out my blogger numbers and they tanked very suddenly yesterday down to zero reads.  That made me wonder why I even post blogs at all if I’m not going to get better readership.   Whatever other bloggers do to get web hits, I’m obviously not doing.   Moe Kelly has had a number of adverse contacts with cops.   I actually had four adverse contacts with the Anaheim PD, but strangely – none of those four was when I was living by myself in the apartment.  Perhaps this is because the police saw me around there all the time and knew who I was.   I think the term Thug is a derivative of a group of Islamists centuries ago called “Tuggs” without the H.  Here’s a thought.  Trayvon Martin has never been arrested by the police - - and he never will be.  Last night it was the usual ABC game shows and then I switched it to Chef Ramsey.  I have a bit of a question because I don’t remember flour being one of the ingrediants the “desert” group was allowed to have- - nor was cooking oil, and yet here is a guy doing deep fried bananas.  There was another Chef Ramsey at nine.   I slept well last night.

Thom Hartman’s cat, Higgins, has led a hard life.  He had a rough upbringing.  He was locked in a room with a pit bull, a literal pit bull - - by some Frat brothers, just as a favorite past time.  The cat learned somewhere that he could get water from a running faucet, and like our cat Bones, Higgins is rather “hydro philiac” in that he is attracted to water.  His favorite foods are pizza and potato chips, no doubt from being raised in a College fraternity.  Hartman has regarded Higgens as a rather neurotic cat given to attacking people.  Sometimes Boones used to do that with people.  It was just his way of saying Hello.  Now apparently Higgins has some sort of cancer and was given radioactive iodine as a treatment, and Iodine has a radioactive half life of nine days.   Perhaps all we Thom Hartman fans should keep Higgins in our prayers - - and if it’s fate that Higgens life is to come to an end shortly- - - we all pray that his death will be an easy one.

This is July 11, 2013 and since it is a lucky 7 – 11 I chose this day to finally transfer shots from my camera starting with images of the Zarniaoff (?) brothers last April.  As it happened the photos came out even in rows once I had them all in.  I should have gotten a better shot of the flowers on the Jacaranda tree when it was clearer blue sky because the purple flowers in this shot are muted.  I took a few last minute shots this morning.  It is nine o clock now.  Stephanie Miller was just relating how a man was arrested for peeping at a woman using the toilet from - - Inside the toilet.  So what is he, the Tidy Bowl man?  It takes all kinds.  I was having trouble getting the flash to flash, probably because the batteries in the camera need recharging.  I woke up at about the normal time this morning maybe five thirty and was there with my vague anxious thoughts.  I’d had a series of flash dream images.  I just ran the grounds through again.  In terms of breakfast we had corn flakes and then scrambled eggs, hashed browns with catsup, and toast with butter and jelly.  Tom gave me his toast and butter and two - - jellies.  Tom was talking about oversleeping his pain medication time by two hours because his roommate wasn’t in the room, who has some sort of breathing machine that makes noise.  I’m glad I don’t face anything like that.  It’s better just to step away from all the news.   When it comes to seat belts I remember the first thing to go through my mind as a kid hearing they wanted to make seat belts mandentory in cars- - I thought “What if there is a bad car accident and I need to get out of the car in a hurry”.   Of course some are more clostrophobiac than others.  If I were in a plane and people were saying “the plane was on fire” and the pilot was saying “Nobody panic” I’d think he was a little nuts.  Of course as kids me and Allan liked to sleep with the bedroom door open and the light from another hall would shine over a shaft of light between us in the room sleeping caty-corner from each other in the room.    I just learned that “QATAR” is a Romulan word - - but it was imported from the Reigelian because of the spelling.  (File that under TMI)  Of course I don’t recall Pete ever sleeping with the bedroom door open.  That was something peculiar to me and Allan.   You know if you get too wrapped up in the soap opera that is the media- - you can lose sight of the focus of your own life.  Nobody wants to ‘turn into a George Zimmerman’ in one sense- -  that we “don’t have a life”.  The guy in the “Rear Window” movie had an excuse for snooping.  He had a broken leg and he was a professional Police Detective.   But Moe Kelly reminds us this whole trial has progressed into “Stupidville”, which isn’t much different from “Stubenville” if you think about it.

AFTERNOON UPDATE  New information has come to light in the Zimmerman trial.  Of course the whole bit about the Police coaching Zimmerman on how to do his taped "testimony" is one for the Justice Department to look into since the police were obviously corrupt and didn't want to charge him in the first place.  But I was flabberghasted to learn that NO BLOOD was found on the concrete where Zimmerman alledged his head was being repeatedly bashed into the slab by a man fifty pounds lighter than he was.  I did not know that Trayvon's body was found NOT on the cement slab but rather on the wet grass, or that it's Zimmerman's testimony that Martin was not "down" entirely after being shot straight through the heart but managed to make his way several yards "to where he dropped his phone" and he expired there.  And of course we are to believe that the dead man somehow pulled his hands in from the spread out position and tucked them under his body.  I think more than minorities on this jury we need Men on this jury.  Ones who aren't bewildered by forensic science and can reason clearly.  For instance- - why weren't the cries for help muffled and unintelligable if they were eminating from Zimmerman?  And if Zimmerman were "swallowing up all the blood", which was supposedly pouring out of his broken nose- - why wasn't he continually spitting up blood the way Rodney King was in the police van?  In fact it might even help to have someone on the jury with a background on guns, and situations where you are NOT allowed to use them like with neighborhood watch.  And as it was pointed out "back up was on its way".  And perhaps the most incendiary remark Randy Rhodes made all day was that Zimmerman was not only stalking Martin- - he was "hunting him" like prey that needs to be killed.  Given that all these facts are now out- - I don't know how the defense attorney will even manage to mount a defense sumation statement since it will soon degenerate into incoherence.  I mean I foresee some sort of "Captain Queeg" moment when you have all the time in the world - - - and nothing to say.  (Selah)
