Attack #1: Holding Ryan and Romney, not Biden or Obama, accountable for Libya statements.
I just want to talk to you about right in the middle of the crisis. Governor Romney -- and you’re talking about this again tonight -- talked about the weakness, talked about apologies from the Obama administration. Was that really appropriate right in the middle of the crisis? (I would add that Romney began mouthing off before we had even LEARNED that the Libyan ambassador was killed) (And the appropriate response to this question would have been 'No")
Attack #2: Asking Ryan--and only Ryan--to respond to American misdeeds in war.
Mr. Ryan, I want to ask you about -- the Romney campaign talks a lot about no apologies. He has a book called “No Apologies.” Should the U.S. have apologized for Americans burning Qurans in Afghanistan? Should the U.S. apologize for U.S. Marines urinating on Taliban corpses?Attack #3: Asking what the Romney/Ryan team would do, but not Obama/Biden, about Iran.
How will you do it so quickly? Look, you both saw Benjamin Netanyahu hold up that picture of a bomb with the red line and talking about the red line being in spring. So can you solve this -- if the Romney-Ryan ticket is elected, can you solve this in two months before spring and avoid nuclear –Attack #4: Asking Ryan specific questions on unemployment, while letting Biden avoid them. Raddatz asked when each team expected to get unemployment below 6%, but then, after Biden was evasive, kept asking Ryan: “When could you get it below 6 percent?”
Attack #6: Attacking Ryan--and only Ryan--for past legislative stances,
While discussing Medicare, Biden brought up Social Security for a moment. Ryan responded, and then Raddatz suddenly turned to Ryan and accused, “You were one of the few lawmakers to stand with President Bush when he was seeking to partially privatize Social Security.”
Attack #7: Accusing Ryan of not offering "specifics"--and interrupting him:
"You have refused yet again to offer specifics on how you pay for that 20 percent across-the-board tax cut. Do you actually have the specifics, or are you still working on it, and that’s why you won’t tell voters?” After Ryan tried to explain, she cut him off, barking, “Do you have the specifics? Do you have the math? Do you know exactly what you’re doing?” She followed by interrupting him again, “No specifics, yeah.”Attack #8: Falsely accusing Ryan of wanting to add to the defense budget. Ryan tried over and over to explain that he and Romney weren’t increasing the defense budget, just not cutting it, but Raddatz was deaf to him. (Keep in mind that by bi partison agreement there are ten percent accross the board cuts in the entire budget. The Ryan Romney defense hike includes stuff the military itself says it doesn't need) Thus:
Raddatz: And you’re going -- and you’re going to increase the defense budget.Attack #9: Asking Ryan, not Biden, about the implications of his stance on abortion. Instead of asking Biden why his administration favors abortion-on-demand, Raddatz turned on Ryan:
Ryan: Think about it this way.
Raddatz: And you’re going to increase the defense budget.
I want to go back to the abortion question here. If the Romney-Ryan ticket is elected, should those who believe that abortion should remain legal be worried? Some Attacks of my Own
This was by no means an exhaustive enumeration. I did the whole thing without even jotting down notes first. There were so many items. I had stuff left over. This represents the Romney constituancy, which is anything but 'Moderate".
By the way - - the dramatic shift in the Presidential polls is not just from Obama having a "bad night" some eleven years ago. I believe you can trace it all the way back to the lies the tea party is telling about the handeling of the Obama Administration of this Ambassador shooting crisis. This tragic incident was Romney's leg up, to exploit tactlessly and endlessly. There is no way in Hell that President Bush would have been subjected to this sort of thing in the days after 9 - 11 - 2001.
I wanted to talk about just how extreme - - bizzare Paul and Judy's political beliefs have become. They are against Prop 39 and Judy has argued passionately in favor of not stopping corporations from leaving the country by tax subsedy. Judy has also said that these Swiss Accounts, which might even be illegal if for tax evasion, are fine with her. She's against the schools proposition. She's in favor of privatization of the school system and vouchers despite the fact that many of people early in the nation's history who fought for public education were Christians. She's downright fatalistic about how "American's don't produce anything here any more' and she chafes against any positive economic news that indicates otherwise. She goes so far, and I put this question to her today "What if we go into several months of strong recovery and it' January 21st and Romney is in office. Will he fire a Fed Chairman who brought us this recovery and put in someone who will "take us back into recession" My words. She said "If the American people are told it has to be done, they'll go along with it. I also reminded her that you people shouldn't be so negative about the future because three months from now it will all be Mitt Romney's problem. They want someone who avoided the draft to propigate a religion Mormonism, up to now so many fundamentalists have falled Ungodly and heretical. And he does this, not in darkest Africa but from a chateau in France. The Puritans believed in production and making things and creating wealth for the community. Romney has never made anything but only his whole life come up with schemes for looting money from others. The only difference between Mitt Romney and Berny Madoff, is that Madoff is in jail. When I pointed out a lot of Wall Street people were crooks, Judy's response, "How can you be against Wall Street? Your mother has a lot of stocks and money and you'll be inhereting that some day" (a dubius assumption anyhow) I'll just add in right here that this was in response to the Occupy Wall Street thing where Judy said all these protesters who just "wanted to steal from the rich". I reminded her Jesus said to pay your taxes. And Jesus did not add "But you should complain like Hell and petetion to have them slashed. Back 35 years ago the very international corporatists and banks Judy regards as pristine pure- - - were considered forces of the Antichrist - - back in my day. Politics stopped at the water's edge. You did not attack a President's foreign policy in times of crisis like the Lybian ambassador killing, as Romney did. In fact the Bible teaches that you are to show your leaders respect. Paul and Judy go so far as to oppose law enforcement propositions on the ballot, if it costs any money. As you will remember Franklin Roosevelt in mocking fashion said the following in his 1936 reelection campaign. He said "The republicans say they are in favor of all the things we are but they can do them better and do more of them, and the best part- - it won't cost Anybody - - Anything" (laughter of crowd) Paul and Judy say that Obama has been soft on Islam and that 'His whole foreign policy is falling apart" and "The reason why that Ambassador was killed is because Al Qaeda thinks Obama is too soft on Islam these past four years. Of course the list of groups Paul and Judy have an abiding loathing for is dizzyingly long. It inclueds, the poor, people who don't pay federal income tax, The Chicanos, The Arabs, Islam in general, homosexuals, Higher education in general, and it seems they hate people who show any emotion in debates. They love these atomotons such as Romney and Ryan. They love the Romney-bot. They hate Byden's smiling and laughing, but Mitt Romney does that funny liffle laugh every time the conversation turns to his causing another to suffer, like that hair cutting prank in college. In addition to all this they don't believe any yardsticks of reality. They say that global warming is a hoax. In general they don't trust scientists. They obviously don't trust most economists. They don't trust the polls in less they are favorible to their people. They think there is a giant conspiracy in the Media to keep the truth from us. Judy always comes with this "secret information of what the President is planning" from her obscure web sites. If the President himself in his own words refutes her accusations about him, she says the President is just lying. Yet she calls herself a good Christian and a good American. I don't know for a fact but I bet she's also for Michelle Bachman's stance of letting America default on it's debts in that crisis last summer. She claims I have it too good and they have it so bad- - and yet Paul the other weekend admitted that parents subsidizedd his mortgage and now it's paid off quicker. But if I get a three percent in S S I for the first time in three years Paul asks "How come you deserve that?" Needless to say I have less than zero respect for anything Paul and Judy say. But the big trick now is trying to hide as best I can, how I really feel.
