Court Cast Shadow over Generic Drug Use

Today the U S Supreme Court bolstered the positions of all those who insist that we all pay top dollar for name brand drugs, for instance in Obama's Health Care plan. This is because they denied the states and/or the people to sue over certain mishaps and side effects that generic drugs may have. The Court seemed to be saying that if there were foreign substances in the drug that the FDA didn't catch, or there were gross side affects to a certain drug, well then "tough" and to go out and by the more expensive name brand drug at three times the price. Clearly this ruling is stepping on state's rights. Of course these anti immigration people talk about stepping on state's right. And the Bush v Gore case was about treading on state's rights. It could be argued that these current neo cons are not at all adverse to treading on state's rights when it's in their political interest. Of course the whole area of drug safety or the safety of any product should be the pervue of the states. It's not mentioned in the constitution as the exclusive domain of the federal government. People should be able to sue whenever and wherever they want. The thing is the drug companies don't owe us "success" with every drug. But they do owe us a "reasonable expectation that the product is suitable for the use it was purchassed for. The same would be said for a piece of machinery or electronic equipment. This was a five to four decision of the Court and my guess it's the usual suspects who voted for it. It's just another way to continue to strip rights from the American consumer.

Now there is a trend in 24 states or whatever to greatly restrict voting rights to vast segments of the population. You remember that Paul Warwick fellow said in 1978 in his church that "Quite frankly - our power to sway presidential politics goes up as the percentage of American voters goes down". Thom Hartmann today on his radio program referred to the Jeffersonian model of "making sure the public is educated when they vote". But Rev. Warwick spoke of typical liberal objectives as the "Goo-goo sidrone". Thomas Jefferson said the remedy for the uneducated masses is not to take the vote from them thus disenfranchizing them, but rather to educate them", and of course Jefferson was a champion of free education. What these states want to do is to require a photo I D for all voters. The trouble here is that it impacts Blacks and old people, and the poor in general particularly hard. I don't believe it's coincidental that all of these groups just happen to vote democratic. I know that were I just to go down to the DMV and not even get a license renewal but merely to just go down and have my picture taken- - I'd have to shell out $22.00 because only people over 65 or maybe it's 70 get to have a photo I D for free. And I don't even know what the laws are in other states. Thom Hartman has spoken often about the "red shift " phenominon that manifested itself first in the election year of 2,000 and became more pronounced with each passing year. I remember the California 1964 Primary when they predicted Goldwater would win. CBS was a champion of this new thing called VPA or voter profile analysis. They were now able to do exit polls and take all the suspense out of elections. I even think Ralph Story once did a comentary on this. Since these early days exit polling has become quite acquerate. According to Hartman they have down to a tenth of a percent in Germany. So even though it takes days to tally the election ballots in Europe, they know the final outcome within a couple hours. This used to be true in this country till about twelve years ago when this red shift thing showed up. Of course generically "red shift" means "retarded" and we all know if you vote Republican you are retarded. But the good news is that demographically now in this country there are more minority babies being born than there are Caucasian babies. That's quite an accomplishment. So demographically the worm has turned, and now it's just a matter of time and the whole Tea Party movement will become just a distant memory.

A lot of people were not happy with the President's speech last night. They argue that the political reality is now the people of the United States will not continue to support a war in Afghanistan for at least three more years, and probably longer, given our deficet and debt situation. But an even bigger reality people are missing is that these economic stimulus packages passed two years ago either will run out or already have run out, and it's showing up in the economic statistics. Democrats are likely to inform this President that we really need a new economic stimulus package if we are going to win next year, and if we phrase it right, the republicans might even go along with it. We continue to hear stories about various state government program shutting down and colleges being defunded. Also even in the private world I heard a roomer that Marie Callendar is going to initiate a massive lay-off of its employees numbering in the thousands, and that many outlets will be closed down. This whole constriction phenomonon, both public and private, has not spent itself yet, and for each program closure or business closure, that's that many jobs lost and that many people without spending power. Someone said that if you are running a bakery if you give the owner a tax break he will not go out and hire new employees. He'll pocket the profit. The way to induce a bakery to hire more workers is if their business were suddenly to double and they had lines of customers out the door. This would induce employers to hire more workers to keep up with demand, even if they were short on capital at the moment. The trouble is that these hard right tea baggers such as Dr. Levy know little to nothing about basic economics. This president spent all his political capital on just one thing and that's getting that Health Care monstrocity through, which come 2014 will not even be funded by a republican congress so it will all have turned out for naught.

Some would argue that Marcionism and Gnosticism are different in that to a Marcionite the world is completely wicked and depraved and corrupted, whereas a Gnostic is saved by discovering that spark of divinity within him. But as you know the pecking order in Gnosticism goes first The One - - Lesser Gods - - Angels - - and finally Man. Man is the low point on this totem pole. If we believe St. Paul- - the whole process of even being saved is in itself a Mystery. Gnostics can't say how it happens. It's just an "experiance that changes you" and you yourself don't have within yourself the power to make it happen. As to Marcionism, Tertulian said of them "They would have God the Just at odds with God the Good, and they portray the two as irreconsilably at odds with one another". My response is that Justice is one of my seven cardinal virtues. If you are Just then it's a big sign that you are good. If you are Not Just, it definitely shows that you are Not Good. It's just that simple.

Some of you out there in cyberspace are asking, "Did you mean to imply that a distant planet such as revolves around Sirius A spins on its axis with reference to the star at exactly the same rate down to the minute or second that the earth spins around its axis once in reference to the sun?" It sounds like that. But someone told me years later that the sun on Sirius A that night did not set till around 11:30. There were no windows in the building I was in so I didn't know whether it was day or night (or even whether I WAS really in New York). It's most likely that the people did not go to bed till two or three that morning, which would be twelve or one AM current DLST California time. What you people need to know is that people on Sirius A are night owls. They don't sleep based on whether the sun is our or not. In terms of time - - this planet spins on its axis once about ever 26 hours or so so that every day the sun rises and sets a couple of hours later than the day before. The sky is kind of a dull gray, which tells me their atnosphere does not contain Nitrogen as ours does, which is rendered into a blue liquid near absolute zero. As to whether the entire planet is cloaked, for me personally this is a real possibility since Sirius A is one of our clossest stars being only twelve & a half light years away. Our astronomers would not see a cloaked object with their telescopes. If a body such as myself were also cloaked in the same manner, handeling other cloaked objects would be no problem. By the way cloaked people do not sufficate. Cloaking of solids does not affect gasses. Just to set you at ease on that one. As to some other planets we could review these again - - like the outer ones in Reigel- - - Reigel VIII is some sort of an industrial military planet where the sun shines very brightly and the atnosphere is quite thin and the sky is virtually black. On Reigel IX there are geysers and bubbling pools and things such as are at Yellowstone, and and the air is steamy, and I imagine, sulphury. Reigel X is a very nice earth like planet with grass and greenary with blue skies. Reigel XI is unknown. Reivel XII is a cold planet and inhospitable and cold. They mine some "black, crysteline substance" there. I don't think it's dilithium. But apparently it's a valuable substance that resembles graphite. By the way, ordenary sand is the export on Sirius "O". Silicon dioxide is a valued comodity by the Federation. I guess if you have any more questions you'll keep asking them.
