FOR A professing Christian, which I claim to be, certain obligations are incumbent upon me. You’ve heard the expression Semper Fideles. Well, as a Christian it is my obligation to be faithful to what is referred to as the Holy Spirit. Interpreting the Bible is not to be of one’s own private interperation but rather one is to recognize the fact that since it is through the grace of God that I have been saved in the first place, it is also His sovereignty that places me on whatever “conveyor belt” God wants to use to refine and perfect me into His image. As such the Lord brings pastors and teachers my way that I may learn from them, ad well as learn from other Saints whom God may use to correct me. We are all of our own selves “totally depraved” apart from the grace shown to us by God. According to Jesus Christ on the KFI show (since he is in my path at the Lord’s bidding, I am obligated to at listen to him and weigh his words) we are to submit to our pastors and not rebel in word or deed, inwardly or outwardly from their teachings. I cannot use the excuse “Jesus is my model and you are not” because Jesus was God and as such anything he did was Perfect. Since it would be blasphamus for me to equate myself, too with God, my life by definition can never be perfect, no matter how hard I try to emulate the works of Jesus. In this way I am to learn humility, which is never to take pride in one’s own rightiousness. On the other hand if others appear to at times be “caught in a fault” and appear to be sinning against me, then I am to forgive them, both for now and in eternity. Christians are taught to distrust the Media. Clearly media productions such as “Jesus Camp” are bad characterizations of the Christian faith. This is not how it is being among Christians. The things portrayed are crass distortions. We are always to provide a good “witness” to Jesus, and are mandated by the Bible to lead souls to him, “in season and out of season”, whether we “feel like it” or not.
In terms of these discoveries such as the Bones of Jesus, all such discoveries are inherently bogus, but the Lord teaches that Faith is something that is from God and is devoid of physical evidence, for evidence of this world is evil, and Satan tempts us with it. Therefore we are to deny the Di Vinci codes and this latest so called discovery as snares of Satan to seduce the weak through vanity of knowledge. Once we die all our questions will be answered by God but until them we are to “wait on the Lord” and to live not in doubt but in faith. We are in other words to “Believe our beliefs” and inversely “Doubt our doubts”.
Global warming is not what it appears to be. It is actually the sun that is causing global warming because the planet Mars is also being warmed, so that earth and Mars appear to be warmed by a common source. But neither are we to try and come up with means to do an “end run around God” by trying to devise ways to evade his will for us with ungodly experiments such as stem cell research. Rush Limbaugh says that stem cell research is destined to produce no fruits, and Dr. Dean Edell reminds us that roomers of the latest cancer drug that’s supposed to dry up tomers by cutting off blood vessles is bogus and “people come up with these sorts of snake oil cures every day, but we are just to ignore them.
It is said that the Christian is to work for peace. But Romans 13 plainly teaches us that governments are instituted of God, and if your government tells you to go to war than to War you are bound and obligated to go. In terms of my life as I look at it in the spirit of Christ I must confess I don’t know what to make of it. We are all to be perfect and yet if we claim perfection we are trusting in the Flesh. We must at all times proclaim our unworthyness. If God never did another thing for us, we should be eternally grateful for his mighty works in what he has already done. We are not to complain about our problems. We are as Caroline Brady says, “to just Suck it Up” and anoint our heads with oil and wear a smile. By doing this we glorify God, to whom we owe our lives.

In terms of yesterday’s blog if you ask if I have any thing to add I’ll just say it was based loosely on the “Mythic” file from May 1996 when my memory was at least a little fresher. I used it as a rough outline from Sept. 1986 on. Obviously I left out stuff because (a) I got tired of typing and (b) I had other things to do yesterday, as you well know. I’ve been reading the O Bama book today. I left out where parents swarmed over the Bosc house in the stultifying heat on a day in early September 1987 doing yard work and again spawning the question from Frank, “Are your parents selling the house?” I also left out where Frank had cut his work hours in May and thus had more time on his hands he’d have to fill with one activity or another. I also left out Frank letting me borrow his guitar and my playing got pretty damn decent for a while. I borrowed his guitar and he borrowed my - - - no it doesn’t work that way. I didn’t include the time we went over to “Bobby Hayden”s apartment on a Saturday night in late September to watch “Top Gun” or why that’s relivant. Many events I didn’t include because I thought they were repeatitive. I didn’t mention two events that took place non related on an especially glum, overcast day in mid November 1986. I didn’t bring up the triple birthday surprise party thrown by “Henry” in late February 1987 for Allan, Jack, and Debby. And lastly I didn’t mention anything about Iran-Contra. According to Randy Rhodes they used the money first to put drugs into the inner city and then bought and sold drugs and used the profits from that amount to give to the Contras. Of course I didn’t mention anything that occurred in the past week notably, to be exact, from the evening of Wednesday September 30th. to the morning of October 8th. Of course the book of Acts doesn’t mention anything about the myrterdoms of either Paul, James of Jerusalem, or Peter, or the fire at Rome of Nero’s throwing Christians to the lions and torthing others for his garden parties. I guess that stuff just wasn’t “relivant” to the purpose of the writer of Acts, alledgedly in the year AD 85. In both cases of my blog and the book of Acts if you’re missing “the end of the story” you’re missing a whole lot.

For lunch we had cheeseburgers and waiting for seconds finally paid off. I wasn’t going to wait for seconds for dinner because sometimes it’s twenty minutes. I guess Ed Schults is getting Das Boot. (OK I know that’s wrong) Ed Schultz tries to get all haughty and claim he’s better than everyone else and now he may be nowhere.
