You know, I’m starting to get fed up with liberals too. Today Randy Rhodes was going on and on about some affair of her own imagining between George Bush and Congelisa Rice. She was saying the reason why Laura is never with him is because their relationship is strained. Randy then went on to whitewash Bill Clinton saying the suit filed by Paula Jones was without merit. There is still this mad Rush to defend Clinton.
Personally I don’t want Hillary Clinton running whether or not she sucks up to the right wing as Rush has been charging. We know what she’s going to be once she gets in office. They’ll be passing politically correct speech laws right and left like these fascistic regulations they have on college campuses. And Hillary is just too “angry” to hold the office of President. Rush moved out of New York because the tax rates are too high and lots of people in the Northeast have been “voting with their feet”. Although judging by how hot it is in this room now with no AC I don’t see the mad attraction to moving to a state like Florida which is so flat that it will be underwater after a few years of polar ice cap melting. It’s kind of like if you’re moving down there, “You’ve been warned”.
Of course California is on the verge of passing another minimum wage hike. I think the national rate is $5.50. The state wide rate is $6.75 and they want to raise that to $7.75 and then index that rate to inflation, which of course will be going up. I think you’re going to hear that famous Giant Sucking Sound of jobs leaving the state and going elsewhere. The only people that will want to move Into this area are illegal aliens. Not only will the Senate bill increase the illegal alien problem by twenty billion, but also now they want to unionize the illegals so that you’ll have to pay them ten dollars an hour or higher. That’s what you call going from the frying pan into the fire. The one upside to the situation the way it now is is that you get a better product at a low price, but now all that may change. We can’t have a minimum wage two dollars higher than other states.
I’m glad I’m a Republican. That way I don’t have to choose between a polluter and law violator, or just a garden variety political crook. Swartzenegger has the right idea, which is to invest in infrastructure like roads and bridges and levies. We don’t need some giant new pre school proposition 82. I think the election in November is going to be the biggest land slide for Swartzenegger we’ve ever seen.
Today is June 2nd. On this date in 1969 I went to Al Kaders’ group therapy for the first time. But first I toured Good Will courtesy Vocational Re-hab. After all the tests they put me through the best they could come up was Good Will working for seventy five cents an hour. I had said that one of my goals was to get a girlfriend. Let me tell you about my first semester in college. As you know in the fall of 1968 I attended night school. But one thing I noticed about college girls almost immediately was that they were a lot less approachable than high school girls. This semester stands out in my mind in this instance. Of course the girls there at group therapy were so ugly I needn’t have bothered asking. That same night I took my psychology final- - and I believe I failed the whole course but I don’t remember why now.
It was around June first 2005 that Valerie at Green Harbor made the statement that she thought all mentally ill people should be sterilized. And she pointed out she had never been diagnosed as being mentally ill but she was diagnosed with everything else in the book. And there are still times I wonder whether she wasn’t a trans-sexual. Not one time did she ever wear shorts or any kind of skimpy top to show off her figure, if she had one. She talked about being into leather and mechanics. Despite all the young guys throwing themselves at her the only guy she was interested in was a 69 year old Black man who used a walker. And we know how Valerie bragged about her German extraction. You know I was going to do “June first” throughout other years in my life but I’d end up boring myself and anybody who would be reading this.
If gasoline prices were really that high now this wouldn’t be the biggest travel season since prior to nine eleven. People just love to complain, that’s all. People are riding high, economically. Gasoline was seventy cents per gallon in 1974 and if you translated it to today’s dollars people tell me it would be between $3.50 and four dollars per gallon. People are buying S U V’s like they’re going out of style. They say that a gas station makes more on the twelve ounce cup of coffee you buy than the twelve gallons of gasoline you buy. Trying to cast blame on oil companies may also be pointless. Switching to wind or solar power appears as unlikely, now or in any foreseeable future, appears about as likely as being struck by lightning. People just don’t care about conservation when you come down to it. If solar was “the way to go”, we would have switched over in the sixties when they first talked about solar panels. That’s my opinion.
My prediction for Days of our Lives will be that Chelsea gets off with virtually no punishment of any sort and that she continues to cause trouble between Bo and Hope, if they’re even together. I predict that the trial we’ve been waiting five months for won’t last five days, and that the prosecution will screw up bad beyond belief, Hope’s testimony will cave into nothing - and I predict Sean won’t be allowed to testify at all
I advise you people to read "Rocca Rolla" if you're curious what I mean when I make reference to the "Federation". "Alcion" or "Alcyonne", oddly is referred to as "The Axis" of the Universe. It "regulates" everything that goes on. When you think about it- - if you're praying for better karma, don't pray to God; pray to the Devil. He's the one in controle of that sort of stuff. The devil likes to play games. He wants to make sure that you're "Worthy". The Federation has announced that Howard has now been removed from power as of Sunday night. A lot of us could see it coming. Alcion has mended its fences with the Centaurians and just the threat of a possible alliance drove the Federation into panic and they removed Howard from leadership. There are still troops loyal to Howard continuing to battle the centaurians and the Federation says it would be impractical to go after all of them now to stop them. Howard has basically been banished to some isolated location. Mal Evans has been concerned about him and has tried to get in touch but to no avail. Of course everyone thought we were winning the battle against the Centaurians and even people today say we have made great progress; it’s only the Future which looks bleak.
The US really is fighting “kinder and gentler wars” than it used to. Rush points out that Roosevelt goaded Japan into attacking Pearl Harbor because it withheld trade suddenly for needed supplies. Unlike President Bush, who’s worried about the deaths of 24 civilians, the US and England carpet-bombed Germany for years and years and set off fire storms in places like Dresden. Roosevelt’s only “off limits” were the Jewish death camps. Those couldn’t be interfered with. Roosevelt turned back boatloads of fleeing Jews. Of course Roosevelt wanted to nuke Kyoto, Japan merely for its shock value at the loss of culture. Roosevelt “gave away the farm” at Yalta. Despite Roosevelt’s best efforts the Great Depression went down as one of the worst economic disasters ever and we didn’t come out of it till 1940. Of course Roosevelt wanted to pack the Supreme Court. You know all about that. There’s no question that Lincoln and Roosevelt were the two biggest war mongers we’ve ever had as presidents. They didn’t merely lead us into war- - they reveled in it. Supposedly in targeting German civilians to bomb we were “paying back measure per measure” what they did to England. If I’ve got my facts right they bombed England for a few months in late 1940. We bombed Germany for years on end. By the way- - France underwent very little destruction from the Nazis. But I’ve heard when Roosevelt was asked about “collateral damage” in bombing the French people he said something like “It’s really an issue not worth bringing up. Let the generals bomb whatever they want”. Today France seems closer to Germany than it does to the United States. Is Europe “ungrateful” for all our help in World War II?
Last night was the national spelling bee. Never have I heard so many obscure, foreign words. There should be some sort of regulation about foreign words. Most of the words were words I’d never heard of and had foreign “entomologies”. They started off the evening with thirteen and got down to one. There were words from Greek and Latin, but also such places as Persia and Turkey and ancient Assyria. One girl was bumped but then the committee realized they’d made a mistake and reinstated her. At one point the count was six boys and six girls. A girl won for the first time since 1999 with a Germanic sounding “urbensproche” or something. We had the show on most of the evening but I dialed away briefly to watch a few minutes of The Office marathon.
Washington DC and New York have had their terrorist 9-11 budgets cut by forty percent. Places like Wyoming, where Dick Chaney lives are getting more.
In terms of that immigration bill, Rush is right; we can’t have that thing pass. Now they say if we pass that bill twenty million more illegal aliens will enter this country. One female’s Christian pastor said that we have a “moral right” to allow breaking the law because we’ve always winked at regulations in the past and it would be wrong to change our minds now. The thing is, all those angry Republicans with their right wing grass roots are going to get those same people reelected in November.
