Get Back to Where You Used to Be

One thing you learn from Thom Hartman is that Republicans must have extraordenary patience, more so than any democrat.  You have the "Two Santa Clause' theory played out by Ronald Reagan and perhaps now by Donald Trump, where the Republicans spend like drunken sailors when in power and become Ebonezer Scrooge out of power.  Jude Juanisky must have been a genious to come up with this back in 1980.  And you have the Powell Memo back in 1971 which is why Nixon appointed him to the supreme court later that year.  He wanted an all Republican news network.   Now we hear that the Southern Strategy may date as far back as 1966.   Of course as long as George Wallace was a viable political force, he kind of put the kabosh on that for a time.  Meanwhile when democrats get to planning strategy they act as if they don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.  Of course something else had my attention this morning.  I revisited that Beatle song compilation from January of 2014 where you could call it ‘[ - - ]’s picks’.  There are also four Beatles songs included because the mixing on them has become rare now.  These are “She’s Not There”, “Little GTO”, “Mr. Soul” and “Paint It Black” the latter because it’s in Stereo.  Actually as of right now there is no official demarcation point between the CD’s and this compilation hadn’t gotten as far as dividing the content up into equal CD’s.  In fact there are too many songs for two CD’s.   The paragraph above it is something I want to repost in a blog.  You know there are song lyrics that go “Get Back to the way you used to be”.   I wish I could.  How do you un ring the bell or un cast a spell?  In early 2014 things weren’t as politically bleak as they are now.  Thom Hartman discussed that great Nixon southern strategy plan again.  This was one of the major movements of the latter twentieth century.  Before this there were southern democrats a plenty and even in the eighties there were plenty of Democrats from the south.  In fact Gingrich points out that the reason why congress went along with many of President Reagan’s plans was because there were already so many conservative southern Democrats there.  But Nixon sought to change all that with his southern strategy.  You will remember that in 1970 Nixon declared his war on drugs.  And as John Erlichman admits- - the purpose here was two-fold.  It was to tie radical white hippies with the drug culture such as marijuana and hillucenigens, and also to tie ghetto Blacks to heroin and rock cocaine.  This move was successful.  But there was another dimension to this scheme that makes it even more sinister.  It was to “Blacken the faces of Democrats you see on the TV news”.  Nixon wanted people to associate the democratic party not with white working union people, but with ghetto black congressmen.  This could be accomplished by gerrymandering.  You rig it so that all of the minorities are gathered together into one district so that they can’t help but elect a Black congressman, often by a landslide vote.  The idea is to create the psychology among centrist democrats that “The Negroes are taking over” and if you want a secure home where you feel safe from that, then join the Republicans.  This past election where you see Trump winning the rust belt big time is the pay-off of this 45 year endeavor where you see white people in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania voting Republican in droves.  The question remains unanswered as to what these people will do when they realize they’ve been lied to and that Paul Ryan and the Republicans couldn’t care less about their jobs- only their votes.   Even now you hear exhalted glee from the Right wing radio commentators that “When this economy really gets going again in a year or two, all of these down and out disaffected people from Middle America will be oh so glad they voted Republican.

The following takes us back to January of 2014 and the formatting was messed up on the original of this compilation too.  Back in Jaunary of 2014 we had the Presidency and the US Senate and several more House members than we have now.  The BEST we could have done had Hillary even been elected is to get BACK to a situation that we had already deemed unacceptable.  Just think about it.

We have to set our political sights now on getting rid of three governors in particular.  These are Governor Snyder of Michigan, Scott Walker of Wistonsin, and Rick Scott of Florida.  Again - - Christie and Scott are such birds of a feather that Christie could not stay away from a campaign fund raising gathering, even though or perhaps Because, the media spot light was now turned full on him.  This war on the poor and the working man and minorities and seniors and the infirm- - is just Evil.  There is no other word for it.  It's a coordenated money effort of 'I'll scratch you back; you scratch mine".    On the Randy Rhodes the theory was advanced that it's the politicians themselves that "Extort' the corporations and Obama makes a good foil in all this because when a moderate piece of legislation is threatened - - the Congressman will call up the Corporation and say "How much is it worth to you to not have this piece of legislation passed?   Indeed they have their little show "hearings" before the cameras, but that's all they are.  They are just going through the motions to somehow "appear proper".   It's questionable whether or not actual Supreme Court decisions by the Highest Court in the land aren't "bought and paid for".   Someone said the day Obama was reelected that "We have slowed down the course of the coming upheavel Revolution in this country.  It would have occurred sooner with Romney, but it's going to occur just a little later with Obama's re election.   Again the History Books will comdem this whole period of 2009 to 2014 as the greatest period of moral and political decidence this country has ever seen.  So you wonder why I talked a rapture date of 10 - 12 -14 - - - (revised time of 9:44 PDT)   I'll tell you this.  Either THEY go or WE go because we cannot continue to all co-exist together any more without their being some kind of a major confligration.  (Selah)
