This
is Friday January 3, 2014 and in a desperate grasp for sanity I turned on
Nicole Sandler on the Monterey station.
She voted for John Edwards, who by the way was the one that was the
consistent winner in all the progressive phone polls, not the top two in
2008. We are getting screwier stuff
from the Tea Party than ever and that new ‘Patriot’ station is the most whacked
out of the whacked out in terms of LA talk radio stations. We now have four of them and this new one “The
Patriot’ is the worse. They have Glen
Beck on in the mornings. Today at noon
they had Bud Sexton or something, or perhaps it’s Butt Sexton. He’s a former CIA agent and they’ve been
cramming this “God and country” stuff harder than ever down our throats. The reason why they even drag in “God” and
morality is because these are the issues that garner the majority of red state
voters rather than the economic issues, which would provide no incentive for
poor southerners to vote for. Of course
Ayan Rand is a hypocrite because she lived out her later years drawing Social
Security and getting Medicare. Just the
way Clarence Thomas benefited from quotas when he was younger. Apparently Ted Cruz father used to fight FOR
the Castro regeime. I didn’t know
that. So as far as I’m concerned his
judgement was off then, so why should I trust his judgement now? But this Butt Sexton guy made some phenomenal
statements. He said that there is an
utter reconsilable conflict between the ideas of “equality” and “Freedom”. I can’t help wonder how the ancient Greeks
feel about that statement, since democracy was a means of expressing the idea
tht everybody was equal before the law.
It makes me think these people are right who say “They only want the
LIBERTY to strut around in a crowd toting a gun and oppressing the minorities
and the poor. Another statement made was
“Every single totalitarian nation has been the ones- - which preach equality
for all. And I’m wondering just how many totalitarian
nations have equality between the rich and the poor? I don’t know of any. These people on KEIB repeat lie after lie
without a stop. Another statement made
was that “The trouble with socialism is that after a while you run out of other
people’s money”. So I’m wondering, “Just
how close are we to running out of rich people’s money”. Rush said that it’s the goal- - not of the
right but of the left to “Create as many poor people as possible and increase
the disparity between the rich and the poor.
Then the democrats can make promises every election to get the “enslaved”
poor people to vote for them and every time they break their promises- - but
the poor people are so STUPID they keep voting for them anyhow.” Of course they keep saying that there is an
economic crash coming “soon” that will dwarf the crash of 2008. They want to sell you silver and gold, but if
business were that great they wouldn’t they wouldn’t be having to advertize so
much. I don’t mind telling you that I’ve
been really freaked out by stuff I’ve heard in the last couple days. You really have to wonder when a blue city in
a blue state such as Los Angeles has FOUR right wing talk stations- - how they
all won’t just canabalize each other’s ratings.
When it comes to economic sense this makes absolutely zero sense. These people like the Koch brothers think if
you throw enough money around you can “buy the public opinion” as well as buy
their votes. But the good news is that
there is a real chance Senate Minority Leader, Mitch Mc Conell would be out of a job in 2014.
Yesterday
was one of those days up to just past three thirty- - I’d just have assumed
never happened. After this the day was
more constructive. I have to consider
the possibility that I came under demonic attack yesterday worrying, hopefully,
too much about a particular “problem” that has raised its head in an
increasingly obvious way and I’m still conflicted as to what to do about
it. Perhaps nothing. When Nancy was talking about not cramming
religion down one’s throat I wasn’t trying to undermine her faith by asking her
‘Has anyone tried to cram religion down YOUR throat?” After all there are a lot of aggressive cultists
out there who believe that no matter how sound your Christianity may be in your
own eyes- - only THEY “know the exclusive truth”. And needless to say there are people who “lay
trips on you” and psyche you out like they own you or something, when they
(fortunately) have no power at all. And
it’s a good thing they don’t have power because if they did, they could make
your life a living hell.
Regis
Filmin was on the Katie Kuric show. Of
course in this sexist culture if one female host gets “too old” you merely swap
out for a younger model, but of course men never show their age. They then had one of these “juicer” guys who
also however says that “juicing is bad because vegetable juices have more sugar
than a sixteen ounce Coke” or what have you.
The minute you think you are doing everything to keep the “food police’
happy, they have yet another “trip” to lay on you. Now vegetable juice is horrible. Make up your fricking minds! Then it was Eye Witness News. For dinner we had beef Strogenoff and
corn. We had tapioca pudding for
desert. I went to the liquor store and
got smart and bought instant Nescafe because I was spending a small fortune on
fresh brewed coffee. I hope also to cut
down on cigarettes but I bought a pack of John Black grape also. They used to have cookie night on Thursdays. In fact once upon a time you’d get either a
sandwich, or a banana or something, or cookies.
But then it was sandwiches six days a week. Now the lone night we got cookies- - is now a
second cheese sandwich night. It was the usual ABC game shows and then “Vampire
Diaries” and then “Reign”, which was a rerun.
Kings can make a deal and hold a fencing contest to determine the
outcome- - but of course didn’t you know “I’m the King. And Kings don’t have to honor their word”. I wonder if God shares this philosophy. Of course you know that Richard Nixon once
said “Well if the president does it it is not against the law”
Nicole
right now is having a much meatier show than either Stephanie Miller or Ed
Schultz. I would ask people like Rush “Would
you say that increasing the minimum wage would tend to create MORE poor people,
or FEWER poor people”. Don’t confuse
these right wingers with logic. You
know when the tea party started they weren’t into all of this god, gays, and
guns crap. All they claimed to care
about was “making the government more accountable to the people”. But we know that was a lie. It’s a lie that fooled some people even on
the left, but it never fooled me for a minute.
Logic itself would dictate tht the more poor people you create- - the
more in danger Democrats are of taking over the reins of government. You’d think people on the right would be
worried about this and pass a minimum wage law or two. But they won’t. They won’t even extend unemployment when
they reconvene next Monday because in the words of Rand Paul “unemployment insurance
keeps people from getting ahead”. That’s
like saying that a brace keeps someone from walking, who needs it. Basically this week is just the tail end of
the old year and we’ll know a whole lot more when Randy Rhodes gets back and
congress is back in session. All I can
say is that the right wing has been pretty dispirited lately. They seem quite gloomy, even by their standards. They are looking upon the Republican party,
not to mention the Pope himself as “The enemy”. They see democracy as the enemy because they
want to deny the vote to all. This
whole line about “Tax the rich to see the poor – till there are no rich no more”
is a line I wish “Ten Years After” had never said. Because you do know, don’t you that 95% of
all the wealth generated by this so called “economic recovery” of the past four
and a half years- - has in fact gone to the richest among us. I honestly don’t see why all these privileged
elite haven’t been in seventh heaven these past five years, because they’ve
gotten their way almost a hundred percent ever since Barock Obama has been
President. But I understand why even liberals
won’t attack him. It’s because they don’t
want to be associated with all the nuts on the right. They would rather support t President they
don’t like than find the vaguest excuse for a “common bond” with right wing
whackos.
