Yes, there are glimmers
of hope today for democrats on the campaign front. First of all 165,000 jobs were added to the
economy last month. That’s good news for
Obama and bad news for Romney. As you
will remember two & a half weeks ago the Mc Laughlin group predicted that
the unemployment rate would be closer to nine percent than eight percent on Election
Day. With their luck – it could wind up
in the sevens. Also starting today
August first, a whole host of preventative care provisions will be opened up to
women who are now covered by Obama’s health care plan, and will assure votes in
November. These involve wellness visits
that are actually in the interest of insurance companies because birth control
pills are cheaper than either abortions or ceaserans or whatever. And cancer diagnosis at an early stage also
saves costs down the line. An ounce of
prevention is worth a pound of cure.
There is a new poll out that states that in three swing states Obama is
leading decisively. The President is
leading in Pennsylvania by twelve points, and by six points in Ohio and
Florida. These three states combined
wield a lot of electoral votes. There is
still a strong racial bias against the President and for Romney. In terms of the Romney tax plan the analysis
on this is also in. It will cost 456
Billion in terms of the federal deficit, so it’s a money losing
proposition. They took account any
possible “pump priming dividends” from lowered taxes stimulating growth, which
was only slight to begin with. Business
grows with customers and patrons - - and not the generosity of
billionaires. Not even they are that
powerful. But it’s a major tax
shift. For the tenth of one percent
earning over three million they will save $250,000 each year. The average person over a million in income
will save $87,000. On the other hand
taxes for the average person will go up a couple thousand with several tax
hikes. Just to review President Reagan
slashed tax rates for the rich from 70% to 28% but Reagan raised taxes eleven
times on the average worker. The Romney
tax most importantly will eliminate the home mortgage tax credit, which has
been the staple of so many Americans for decades. It will also eliminate deductions for your
child’s education, and health care expense, and also state and local taxes,
which by necessity will probably go up here in California. I don’t think the average voter is aware of
these facts. Since the President has
been campaigning a lot today I’m sure he’s been reminding them. Of course as you know Harry Reed the other
day says that a month ago a Bain Capital representative came into his office
and said that Mitt Romney paid no income taxes at all for ten years in a
row. Harry Reed is not one who is known
as an attention seeking flame thrower.
He’s your regular Casper milk toast who makes pee-wee Herman look like a
body builder in comparison. He pretty
much fades into the woodwork and almost never gets “excited” about
anything. Romney for his part echoed his
mentor Sheldon Addelson who said “I only talk to rich people because they’re
the only ones that are smart”. The problem
is a lot of us don’t take giant tax write offs not because “we aren’t smart
enough” but we just don’t have the financial where-with-all for it to be lucrative. You will remember in that mock interview Mitt
Romney spoke of “creative destruction” of businesses, and of getting bored with
normal financial transaction- - so he endeavored to take risks. But not with his own vast resources, mind
you, but with the company’s where Romney would rake in the cash and maximize
his own profits. One person on the radio
likened it to someone starting a fire and then volunteering to put it out- -
but then they say they want to be paid for their work, and while they are
putting out the fire they loot everything in the house that hasn’t burned.
Chick filet has scored
big with today’s “lunch in” protest of what appears to be the tea party
set. The thing is though I may agree
with management’s stand on traditional marriage, they donate to a lot of other
right wing organizations with which I may not agree. But I still say it’s their business. I just don’t want them to cram politics down
my throat while I’m eating with Bible quotations and Romney stickers on the
wall, or whatever. The adage is a sound
one that “don’t discuss religion or politics in a bar”. Of course we called it first right here - -
that the whole protest on the left would backfire big. David Cruise is not happy about certain ways
in which this day has been publicized in the media. Of course there is a radio commercial I take
exception to that also mixes politics with business. This Rick Eddleman financial group wants you
to sell all your stock holdings by the end of the year claiming the Obama tax
hikes will take effect January first and capital gains taxes will go up to 20%,
what they were during the Clinton boom.
Let’s assume their darkest prophecies come true and dividends are really
taxed it 35%. This will only occur is
you are already in that tax bracket.
Also if you think about it, you can pay 15% capital gains- - and the
following year derive zero income from dividends on lucrative stocks you no
longer own. OR you can pay zero percent
capital gains this year and keep your stocks and not pay Rick Eddleman their
little commission- - and continue to still get two third of the stock dividends
that accrew to you. It’s your
choice. It’s amazing how common sense
is!
If God has a political opinion
on the tea party it would be interesting to know. It was Mike Meloy who observed that the
hellfire inferno that was the western plains and American heartland caused the
forrest fires in the Rockeys, and because these fire departments cut services to
save tax money, they could not put out those fires. I personally however, prayed for God to show
mercy on these people and to calm down those hot winds to get a handle on the
thing. Don’t thank me. Of course while 70% of the corn crop in most
of the nation is wiped out because of drought, California is relatively unaffected
by the hot weather and drought. This
summer has averaged consistently below average all summer. Today is the first really uncomfortable hot,
sticky day we’ve had in a long time. God wanted to make sure those who waited
in long lines to get into chick fillet, had appropriate climate. Of course here in California we have almost
all of our crops irrigated so not only are we not subject to the crop loss, but
also we’ll get a higher price for the product we do put out. That’s justice for you. California was one state that successfully
resisted the tea party juggernaut that swept over the rest of the mation in
2010, and now God is weighing in with his opinion. One time in 1994 there was this woman, Debbie
Lies, whom I had romantic hopes for, was getting married. It happened to be on the first Saturday of
August in 1994, which just happened to be the hottest day of the year up to
that point without question. The spring
that year had been downright frigid. It
was just God throwing in his two cents.
Of course this was the period in August of 1994- - one of the reasons
why I didn’t go out for beer till nearly nine o clock at night was because it
was so darned hot that I wanted to stay in my air conditioned apartment for as
long as possible. Then I’d bring the
liquor home and then listen to Mandentory Metallica at nine on KNAC. It was during August of 1994 that I did a lot
of writing on multi dimensional entities, and the derived mathematical relation
between them.
There is a rising
middle class in China and now in India and they are necessary consuming a lot
more petroleum & an expanding carbon footprint and also buying a lot of
Gold in India accounting for 32% of the world’s gold consumption. As such for the first time I can remember
precious metals spiked upward- - without the following crash downward. When you’ve been tossing up a ball all your
life up in the air, you kind of get used to the notion that it’s going to come
back down, and are surprised when it doesn’t.
I have told you that in terms of the Obama campaign - - the Venus cycle
has never failed - - pretty much - - since 1892. That’s what you call a really long track
record of reliability. We’ve heard the
tea party and know their issues and platform well. Many people are completely ignorant of just
what our President believes because they’ve been brainwashed to believe
lies. Once the President gets out
campaigning in ernest- - and gets to a head to head debate with Mitt Romney,
the truth will become a lot more evident.
Because people will discover that Mittens can’t think on his feet at all
–except to put his foot in his mouth - - without rehearsed lines scripted for
him by his tea party mentors such as Sheldon Addelson and Grover Norquist. I still believe Mittens is vulnerable on the
religious issue because few religions are so nakedly established on an outright
Lie, a faborication. You have to believe
in the gold plates with reformed Egyptian hyeroglyphics on them that just
disappeared, and the Urin and the Thumin and all of that- - and the magic
underwear- - and baptizing Jewish holocaust victims decades after the fact in
what amounts to little more than “cultural rape”. Personally I believe Obama would pursue him
on the Guns issue, because I think he’s really vulnerable on that issue- - if
you look at polls of the American people.
